Best Conspiracy Theory Documentaries – Top 10

The following are Seven of the best conspiracy theory documentaries which touch on the majority of all conspiracies, from Extra-terrestrials to the medical system. These documentaries provide an alternative angle from the typical conspiracy theory. The views are (in most cases) outlined in a rational, logical manner and present some aspects of typical official events which simply do not add up.

Best Conspiracy Theory Documentaries

1. Zeitgeist

Zeitgeist is a three-part documentary exploring various conspiracies. It was initially released in 2007 and shortly received tens of millions of views on YouTube and Vimeo. The original Zeitgeist was not so much a film as a multimedia narrative of different clips. It was directed, produced and written by Peter Joseph. The first part of Zeitgeist postulates that the Christian religion is mainly derived from other religions. It asserts that Jesus and the whole concept of Christianity was invented by political opportunists as an effort to subjugate the masses and keep the people in place. The Second part alleges the 9/11 was orchestrated by the government in order to increase surveillance and intelligence powers via the patriot act, a justification for the war on terror. The U.S military had advance knowledge of the attacks and did nothing. And the buildings in the World Trade Center went off in a controlled demolition. Part III delves into the financial system and the international cabal of Bankers who are enslaving the masses through usury. Global catastrophes are orchestrated via the elites who profit from its aftermath. World Wars, Pearl Harbor and the Gulf of Tonkin incident are cited as orchestrated events. It is also indicated in the film that the Federal Income tax is illegal. The third part further touches on international agreements between countries for free trade and radio frequency implant chips to monitor citizens and control dissent. While the movie was viewed by many it received much criticism from media outlets. The Irish Times reported

“these are surreal perversions of genuine issues and debates, and they tarnish all criticism of faith, the Bush administration, and globalization—there are more than enough factual injustices in this world to be going around without having to invent fictional ones”

The best description was probably given by Ivan Tosser in the Globe and Mail:

“The film is an interesting object lesson on how conspiracy theories get to be so popular…. It’s a driven, if uneven, piece of propaganda, a marvel of tight editing and fuzzy thinking. Its on-camera sources are mostly conspiracy theorists, co-mingled with selective eyewitness accounts, drawn from archival footage and often taken out of context. It derides the media as a pawn of the International Bankers, but produces media reports for credibility when convenient. The film ignores expert opinion, except the handful of experts who agree with it. And yet, it’s compelling. It shamelessly ploughs forward, connecting dots with an earnest certainty that makes you want to give it an A for effort.”

2. Cowspiracy

Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret is a documentary which outlines the effects that meat eating has on climate change. The Cowspiracy website posts a number of scientifically verified facts which are mentioned in the documentary, such as

• Livestock and their byproducts account for at least 32,000 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year or 51% of all worldwide greenhouse gas emissions.
• Methane is 25-100 times more destructive than CO2 on a 20-year time frame
• Livestock is responsible for 65% of all human-related emissions of nitrous oxide – a greenhouse gas with 296 times the global warming potential of carbon dioxide, and which stays in the atmosphere for 150 years.

It is important to realize that many of these facts, though legitimate, are not telling the full story. While Methane and Nitrous Oxide are far more devastating than Carbon Dioxide (CO2), it is widely held that they do not exist in sufficient quantities to be compared to CO2. While Livestock may contribute to carbon dioxide, no alternative has been suggested. Humans will still need to eat food, and there are more nutrients in meat than any other substance pound for pound. If the alternative is just plants, then many acres would need to be planted, and it could have unpredictable consequences in other areas. The Union of Concerned Scientists claimed that the 51% figure is from an old non-peer reviewed study in 2009. Current scientific consensus is closer to 15% of total Greenhouse Emissions from the meat industry. Fossil Fuels are still the main cause of Global Warming.

The documentary also harshly criticizes environmental organizations such as Greenpeace and Sierra Club. These organizations are not doing enough and are subservient to the beef companies. The documentary also shows the brutal nature of the slaughtering industry. One “sustainably raised” duck was shown getting its head crushed with a blunt ax.

The film had an enormous impact. Many who watch the show actually go vegan. However, it does have its share of criticism. Many who finish watching are convinced that going vegan is going to save the planet, which is simply not the case, though it may help somewhat. One commentator in the documentary states “it’s not possible to be a meat-eating environmentalist”. Completely denigrating the millions of true meat-eating environmentalists in South American countries who have fought deforestation companies for decades. These environmentalists cannot afford the affluent vegan lifestyle which is only now coming to Western citizens, who immediately feel comfortable taking the moral high ground.

3. The Obama Deception: The Mask Comes off

The Obama Deception: The mask comes off is a film written by political conspiracy theorist and talk show host Alex Jones. Jones is the host of the famous Infowars news channel, a site giving alternative versions of official events. The site is generally regarded as fringe by many as it touches on many subjects which are far flung.
The film is based on the premise that all presidents since the assassination of President Kennedy are no more that masks for the powers that put them there in the first place. A number of inter connected organizations are cited as being a part of a greater conspiracy, such as the Council on Foreign Relations, the Bilderberg group, The Trilateral Commission, The Federal Reserve, the Rothschilds and the Rockefellers. The motivation behind all these entities is to create a New World Order (NWO). This NWO would consists of a one world government, with one currency, one system and one set of rules for all to follow. Allegedly Obama had been carefully selected by a powerful group of elite families, and is secretly working against the benefit of the American people while seeming to have their best interest at heart. The film indicates that Obama is no more than a part of the globalist agenda, with a bank of the world, martial law, surveillance, rules and regulations, taxes and concentration camps. The film was taken down on YouTube in 2011 but after complaints it was restored. Like all of the best conspiracy theory documentaries, it generated much controversy. One of the major criticism of the documentary was that snippets of speech were taken and inserted into the movie out of context to represent something else. For example:

“Everybody somewhere between the ages of 18 to 25 will serve three months of basic training”

Obama speaking about a voluntary peace corps where volunteers could get free training.

“Where did you come up with the number 700 billion dollars?”
Treasury spokesperson response: “It’s not based on any particular data point. We just wanted to choose a really large number.”

This conversation had originated Four months before Obama took office.

“A few members were even told that there would be martial law in America if we voted no.”

Essentially there was panic by the Bush administration that if something wasn’t done, then the market may simply collapse and cause social instability. Some people even thought the chaos would be so great that there would have to be martial law. Jones seems to take out the complete context of what the congressman was saying in order to imply that if the bill didn’t pass there would be a coup of some kind. This was not the case.

There are numerous other out of context quotes in the documentary which are very misleading. While some of the substance of what is said in the movie may be true, he uses quotes out of context to make a point he already believes and has been predicting martial law for over 15 years, as well as economic collapse. It also shows clips of highlighted words in newspapers such as “New World Order” or “carbon taxes” which are used as evidence of a globalist plan. The claims are great, the language vague and the “evidence” not from experts and taken by and large out of context. It represents the worst of conspiracy theories. While Obama may have some ties or affiliations the idea that he is no more than a puppet is grossly over-exaggerated or does not give the whole picture, a theme found in most conspiracy theories.

4. Under Our Skin

Under our skin is a conspiracy theory documentary centering on the medical industry and on Lymes Disease in particular. The documentary asserts that a condition of “chronic” Lyme disease exists, a position at odds with the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and the American Academy of Neurology. The Infectious Diseases Society of America are described as being “riddled with conflicts of interest”. The film centers around the stories of six baseball patients infected with Lyme disease. The movie also investigates the medical investigations into two physicians who prescribe long-term antibiotics for chronic Lyme disease. One of these individuals, Joseph Jemsek, departed from standard medical practices with his prescription. His patient reported having nightmarish symptoms. Facing a lawsuit, Jemsek declared bankruptcy. The film exposes malfeasance and negligence in the medical industry, and posits that many individuals go undiagnosed every year.

The documentary is described by all who watch as stirring and moving. Lymes disease is very hard to identify, diagnose and treat. It also suggests that many of people with the disease get misdiagnosed with conditions such as autism, chronic fatigue, MS and fibromyalgia. More than 300,000 contract the disease each year, a huge figure. The film outlines individuals who have had their lives destroyed by “chronic” Lymes which IDSA refuses to recognize, as well as the hidden world of politics within medicine. However, near the end of the film, the IDSA agreed to submit its Lymes disease guidelines to an independent review body, which supported its validity. While theorists contend that this is a giant cover-up among the medical industry, it could simply be that the disease itself is very difficult to pinpoint. An independent Yale University panel described the film as “misleading”. Within the scientific community, there is no consensus on Lymes and it is recognized that some patients do seem to get symptoms after treatment with antibiotics. The issue is not clear cut, which does not mean there is a conspiracy afoot. This does not excuse the malfeasance and negligence rampant in the medical community. The film also voices that chronic Lymes could be the result of an increased resistance to antibiotics itself.

5. Endgame: Blueprint for Global Enslavement

Another entry on the list from talk show host Alex Jones. This documentary goes one step further than typical conspiracies on debt slavery and terrorism. In Endgame, Jones reveals an alleged eugenics-obsessed group of global elites whose mission is the elimination of most of the Earth’s population and the enslavement of the rest. He makes claims of a Satanic international network “steering planetary affairs for hundreds of years….”. He discusses his claims about the pseudo-science eugenics being used by governments, Microsoft and the band U2. Eugenics is the term used to describe human biological engineering. Certain traits such as aggressiveness, passiveness, humility would be mapped to certain aspects of the body, by and large neurotransmitters in the brain. Humans would be engineered based on their traits and classified as a certain “type”, much like Aldous Huxleys “Brave New World”. This would ensure complete domination as all humans are a certain type, aside from one or two anomalies, would be inherently predictable. When the New World Order achieve their one world government, they then plan to eliminate the majority of the world’s population while living in luxury with their robots and human servants. The movie reveals how the same people have funded dictators and wars throughout history to ensure the fruition of their globalist agenda. It received much media criticism.

6. The Conspiracy (2012)

The Conspiracy is a found footage fiction movie about a conspiracy. It gained widespread positive reception by the media. The plot revolves around two documentary makers who decide to make a documentary about a conspiracy theorist, Terrence G. Terrence G has newspaper clippings from various time periods which he uses to connect the dots between various cataclysmic events, including 9/11 and World War I. While being interviewed by the two film makers ( Aaron and Jim) Terrence becomes agitated and claims there is a man following him. He is not seen after the interview and the two conspiracy film makers become involved in a conspiracy as they try to find out what happens to Terrence. Aaron and Jim are led to a group known as the Tarsus Club, a club founded as a secret society who sacrifice a bull at each of their meeting. They infiltrate the Tarsus Club and pretend to sign up as new members. They are both caught and a member reveals that Jim’s wife and child has been brought to the meeting, with other footage showing that Aaron was chased while wearing a bull mask, by people with knives wearing raven masks. In the epilogue Tarsus members explain that they only pretend to attack people to scare away pretend members, and that they just want cooperation between governments, individuals and businesses. They are shown editing the videos, Aaron later disappears and Jim appears to be brainwashed.

This is a brilliant, intelligence conspiracy documentary for multiple reasons. It does not clumsily shout conspiracy from the rooftops or mention crazy government eugenics programs. It’s much more subtle, with subliminal messages imbued cleverly into the plot. It simply mentions the Tarsus Club, which is held to be the center of the New World Order. The Tarsus Club was largely unknown before this movie, however after it’s release people did some digging and there are now more and more articles coming online about the organization, with the inverted pentagram as it’s symbol. The Wikipedia page for the Tarsus Club has since been taken down. The Wikipedia page for Murray Chance, influential financier and President of Tarsus, was taken down on the same day according to one account. While some theorists contend this is evidence for the Tarsus Club, others hold that it is all a ruse to generate publicity for the movie by it’s film-makers.

The movie received 86% on rotten tomatoes. Richard Whittaker of the Austin Chronicler writes “The Conspiracy succeeds, not just because it successfully mimics the post-Michael Moore generation of directors who love to put themselves in front of the camera. It succeeds because it mimics the fever-dream paranoia of conspiracy documentarians”. Drudge Central stated that “The Conspiracy is one of the most original, creative, and genuinely frightening horror movies in recent memory”

7. Loose Change

Loose change is a series of films released in the period 2005-2009 which investigate certain conspiracy theories about the September 11 attacks on the world trade center. The film suggests that the terrorist attack was a false flag operation, meaning it was used by the government in an attempt to increase its powers. The claims behind the movies have been largely discredited by independent research and official accounts, however the idea that the government was behind the 9/11 terrorist attack is believed by many, and the claims are not completely groundless. Surprise endorsers of the film included Charlie Sheen and Mark Cuban, and there was initial plans for Sheen to narrate the show itself. Alex Jones made an appearance as an executive producer. The documentary mentions other conspiracy theories linked with the government, including Operation Northwoods, which contemplated domestic attacks on home soil as a false flag operation to support an attack on communist Cuba. This claim is in fact legitimate. A freedom of information act forced the Operation Northwoods file to be publicly available, and it outlines in no uncertain terms plans to instigate a false flag operation. The plan was eventually refused by President Kennedy much to the chagrin of his generals.

Other curious pieces of information are revealed in the documentary. Between 6-10 September, and unusually high number of put options were put on the stock of American Airlines, Boeing and United Airlines. A put option is the choice to sell at a predetermined rates, exercised if the price of the underlying stock goes down. The same year of the crash the Pentagon conducted two training exercises simulating the crash of a Boeing 747 into the building. The documentary also references the fact that the demolition of the World Trade Center does not match the known laws of physics, and much more closely resembles a controlled demolition. Multiple eyewitness accounts report hearing explosions going off as do audio recordings. And it is also pointed out that fire alone should not have been enough to bring down the twin towers, as many weaker towers have survived longer fires without collapsing. The documentary also claims that the subsequent video allegedly by Osama Bin Laden was a fake, as well as making reference to George W. Bushes strange reaction when initially finding out about the crash.

The end of the series highlights the financial motivations behind the attack, mentioning Larry Silverstein and the Oil company, Halliburton, which has significant ties to Dick Cheney. Loose change was one of the first major internet phenomena. By 2006, millions had watched the movie online, marking the gradual depart from mainstream news which has gotten more corrupt and untrustworthy by the year.

8. The Kennedy Assassination: Beyond Conspiracy

The late president John F. Kennedy was killed in November 1963. Over forty years later, most people in the US still believe that there was a plan to kill him. While Lee Oswald may have pulled the trigger, most people think that he was acting on the orders of someone else.

Are Americans paranoid? Do they simply refuse to believe what is right in front of them?

The Kennedy Assassination: Beyond Conspiracy is a documentary that seeks to unearth the truth about that fateful day in the American history.

The documentary has been made possible because of the work of one Dale Myers, an animator. The man utilized the most advanced forensic technology available today in order to recreate the day that John F. Kennedy was killed. When you watch the film, you will get the benefit of that extensive forensic analysis. Also include in the documentary are interviews of the killer’s nearest and dearest as well as the relevant officials from the FBI, KGB, CIA and other public bodies in the know.

Ten years of hard work put into making it certainly shows. You will be able to use the hard evidence presented to you to form your own rational conclusions about what happened on that day.

The documentary was first shown in 2003 on ABC and can still be accessed online today.

9. The Ebola Deception: Vaccine Agenda Fully Exposed

While the viral disease Ebola has been around for a few decades, the 2014 ongoing epidemic in West Africa is the worst the world has ever seen. Not only has the disease killed the locals in the region, but also it has crossed continental borders and killed a few people in America.

What makes this particular Ebola outbreak so different? Why has it killed so many people in such a short time? Is there an agenda behind the 2014 outbreak? Could the big pharmaceutical companies be fueling the spread of the disease for financial benefits?

You may want to see the documentary The Ebola Deception: Vaccine Agenda fully Exposed before you make any decisions on the matter.

The film tackles issues regarding whether there are versions of Ebola, which may be genetically engineered, with an aim of introducing them into our food chains. There is a possibility that some vaccines may be rabies based, which would open a new can of worms altogether. Take time to see what various researchers and experts think.

This conspiracy theory is one that is worth watching. If there were an element of truth on the matters being discussed, then the evil in humanity would be overwhelming to deal with.

10. The Syrian War: What You’re Not Being Told

The Syrian war is in some ways a direct result of the Arab Spring. When people in many of the Arab countries in the Middle East started clamoring for their democratic rights, the tension in Syria reached an all-time high. However, unlike in many other countries whose leaders fell by the wayside, the Syrian president managed to hold on, and he was demonized.

There is evidence to show that the Syrian president is not innocent. The question is whether he is guilty of all that the West is accusing him of? Is he responsible for the chemical weapons that were used to kill hundreds if not thousands of his people? Could there be an outside hand pulling the strings with a hidden agenda? Are the people involved in the war really terrorists?

Before you support the West in their battle to establish their so-called brand of democracy in the Middle East, you may want to have a peek at “The Syrian War-what you’re not being told” documentary. You will gain some insights on how the West, particularly USA works at destabilizing those countries that it deems unfriendly to their interests.

Conclusion

All of these conspiracy theories are well worth watching, regardless of prior beliefs. It is good to review all evidence from both sides before making an informed decision. While UFO’s, Zeitgeist, and blueprints for human domination may be quite a stretch, side effects, Cowspiracy and even Loose Change are definitely worth watching. There is a considerable amount of unanswered questions about 9/11 and believing the official version is naive given the testimonies from demolition experts and eyewitnesses.
